Project:Moments Intercepted

"Adam Stenhouse"

Occupation: Student
Location: Vancouver

Why does this project interest me?
Working within a photography based practice i am fascinated by the small details that build up people's lives, the little things that are seen and often passed by and ignored, but in these details i find there is a strange and deeply personal, magical, almost spiritual method of reading the world.  I see this project an extension of that search for those small telling details that build up the larger whole.

Challenge: *Challenge 9: Capture summertime

Blue Skies

blue skies, up above, shining sun, heat and sweat, blinding eyes, warming skin and bones to the marrow, looking out not in, summer skies stretch out endlessly, blissfully blue

Challenge: *Challenge 6: Make your next meal a work of art

self portrait

Challenge: *Challenge 8: Take a before & after shot

before / after = but it was worth it…

Challenge: *Challenge 7: Create something with garbage

a bitter phoenix from sour flames

Challenge: *Challenge 5: Make or take a portrait of a stranger

i find tv continually blurs the boundaries between strange and familiar

Challenge: *Challenge 4: Play with fire

Play / With / Fire

Challenge: *Challenge 3: Reveal something hidden

can’t see the photo for the pixels…

I’ve been setting files up for printing all weekend.  Zoomed in on little bits of images making sure it’s all ok, staring at pixels for hours, it’s easy to forget the image as a whole // this is a series of screen grabs of parts of a single image re-assembled

Challenge: *Challenge 2: Make something old new

Charles Brown // Amazing Grace // Re-Worked

Challenge: *Challenge 1: Turn something green

you are what you eat?

if you are what you eat, and all i eat is green stuff, will it make me green?  what does that even mean?  these are the ingredients for my dinner tonight, so guessing i’ll find out tomorrow…
