I am leaving this behind in hopes that I can share with you and 4 friends a little taste of what I experienced during the Moments Intercepted project.
In this bag there are 5 suggestion cards, each with a fun or thought provoking task written on them. Choose a card and complete the task, then pass the bag along to a friend to do the same. I guarantee at the very least you will smile, perhaps even laugh or discover something about yourself in the process.
1-Wear a color you never wear.
2-Name 5 things you are thankful for.
5-Sing in the car.
6-Do that thing you’ve been thinking about doing all day.
I left this on the table at one of my favorite restaurants.
In my travels to capture the perfect image of summer, I came upon this little girl playing in a pond in one of our local parks. The sun was shining, the breeze was warm and gentle, and she was completely oblivious to me taking this photo as she reached her hand into the water to capture the tiny tadpoles swimming just below the surface. I captured her, capturing the tadpoles, and ironically the pond captured her reflection beautifully. I was reminded of similar days from my own childhood and marveled at the fact that I had ever forgotten this feeling.
Mixed media sculpture/installation piece. I find it interesting that fashion mannequins are built in the image of size 2, 3, and 4 bodies when more than half the population does not meet this criteria. Fashion magazines and runway shows depict the perfect silhouettes of models as the norm while at the same time inundating us with media advertising fast food and unhealthy living choices that don’t foster our ever achieving this profile. Our busy lives and hectic schedules make fast food attractive and easy. All of which contribute to our low self esteem and body image issues.
I’m not sure if this is a portrait of me, or of those I call strangers.
Quietly observing this peaceful space, I wonder to myself….
This place is made for speaking, yet no one speaks.
What makes us strangers?
Are we too busy to communicate? Do we rush through our days almost oblivious to those around us?
Sitting mere feet apart, do we engage others in conversation, or are we content to exist in the same space and moment? Sharing closeness from afar.
We need to slow down and remember, we all have places to go. People to see.
All of whom were strangers to us at one time. How is t that they are strangers no more?
Play with fire and you may get burned! Retro influence Collage “12 x 12″
Moments Intercepted. A project on creative exploration of moments in time.
What better example of specific moments is there than a journal? Pieces of our daily lives documented in the pages. Safely free from judgement.
This journal was given to me by a close friend as a joke, (or so he said lol) regardless it proved to be invaluable in allowing me to converse with myself honestly and with humor. I keep it hidden, and now I reveal it to you.
Inspired by retro “Happy Housewife” ad media. Old style ad with a modern twist. “12 x 12″ collage.

His coat of stripes is dope for sure,
But he often times feels insecure,
The Glamour Jungle’s a wicked place,
To show the world your naked face.
So my zebra dons a coat of green,
A lovely, grassy, blendy sheen,
And walks among the forest folk,
Safe within his nice green coat.
